Chihuahuan Desert Animal Shelter & Sanctuary is officially a Texas-registered nonprofit, IRS federally tax-exempt organization, and we are so excited to finally begin this journey with the El Paso and Doña Ana County community and whoever we can help through our journey. 

Right now, we are still very small and operating through foster-based and surrender support efforts while we work toward our long-term dream of building a permanent sanctuary home for animals who truly have nowhere else to go. The forever property is still down the road, but the rescue work has already STARTED. Please consider donating, we really can't do it without your help. 

One of the biggest ways you can help right now is through our shelter wishlists and in-kind donations. Things like kitten food, litter, flea prevention, blankets, toys, and other everyday animal care items help us more than you know.

We know traditional shelters can sometimes feel stressful, overwhelming, and temporary for animals, which is why our vision has always been centered around creating something more comforting, community-driven, and home-like. We believe sanctuary animals still deserve peace, safety, enrichment, love, and a real place to belong no matter their situation.
